Looking for a fun way to spend a Saturday night? Comedian Karen Mills is headed to Tobin Center for the Performing Arts on March 14th for her comedy tour! Check it out in-person this Saturday!
Karen Mills has made a career out of making people laugh. She has been a nationally touring comedian for twenty-five years and can be heard regularly on Sirius/XM comedy channels. One night while traveling home after a show, Jamie Dailey, of the Grammy Award-winning duo “Dailey & Vincent,” heard Karen on LaughUSA and immediately recommended her to The Grand Ole Opry. Karen’s comedy special "Pink Pants" was recently released on Dry Bar Comedy and it has garnered over 10 million views.
Karen’s straight-forward approach to the realities of life will keep you laughing at yourself as you relate to her experiences. Even ovarian cancer couldn’t stop her from turning pain into punchlines. Diagnosed after a routine checkup, Karen was determined to take on the disease with hope and humor and in 2016, she was chosen to give her talk “Cancer is a Laughing Matter” at TEDxChattanooga and has also been featured on Robin Roberts’ "Thriver Thursday.”
Karen has faced every challenge with determination. She stands at 5'2" and was told more than once that she was too short to play basketball. Not only did she play, in 1981 she led the nation in assists and became the first, division 1 first-team All-American in UT-Chattanooga’s history. Karen was the first UTC athlete to earn that distinction in any sport, male or female. Her #12 uniform was retired and she became the first female inducted into Chattanooga’s Basketball Hall of Fame.
Karen Mills' straight-forward approach to the realities of life will keep audiences laughing as they relate to her experiences. Don’t miss Karen Mill at Tobin Center on Saturday! Tickets are available at www.tobincenter.org.
